A level Chemistry practical exam ... 25 different chemicals to get ready ... smelly. LOADS of "interesting" perspectives about Lab Health & Safety here - eg "Drink your chai out of a glass lab beaker - why not! + Safety specs - uh?"

Just marked the end of year exam for the new Mahima Niwas girls in KG2 - 2 of them will progress to Class 1 (= UK year 1) whereas the other 3 are going to need another year learning "count and name - 4 cats, 3 cars" etc. Well, they have only done 2 months schooling since they arrived in Oct /Nov and speak NO ENGLISH. They were put into school classes last month - it's not bad really.
The rest of the 25 new girls are spread throughout nursery & KG1.
Gill's organisation skills have been uncovered - now there is no place to hide. She is chief exams officer (well, the person who collects, collates & organises the exam papers before the exams start. She does a good job.)
Regarding IT, computers & the internet, we are at the mercy of a long string of factors like whether or not we have electricity, whether the exchange sends internet signal to us, the generator being turned off (more is spent on diesel than staff wages! 8 litres per hour at full demand) etc. etc. - sometimes I wonder how it's possible we are able to SKYPE (or facebook) our friends & family - it's SO GOOD and therapeutic to talk to you! :-)
THANKS for following & watching!
Love. bugs bunny & big ears! (Sometimes mildly mad!)
Would solar power not be effective in reducing diesel demand? Also what is the scope for hydro power in your area?

Jenny's now looking at solar power to charge the batteries ... it will save money & they will then be able to afford to pay the school teachers better!
